Great retro-look watch with great wrist presence vs fierce competition

Is it me or is PHOIBOS upping it's game lately? My first PHOIBOS - the now sadly discontinued - Sentinel was a real bargain at €310 (w/a Miyota 9010!). Then I got a Proteus (NH35). Next was my Nebula (again a 9010). My next one was the Kraken (9010) en now this lovely Narwhal. I guess you can see the trend there: I now own 5 PHOIBOS and I guess that also tells you enough about my appreciation for them. So, about the Narwhal. I just love this retro design - period. Great case, great dial, great bracelet: all just super nicely designed and high quality. However: you can also see the trend in pricing, we are going up with each new model and we are rapidly approaching the $500/€500 mark and at around that price the microbrand competition is really fierce. Point in case: for a bit less then the price of the Narwhal you can get (at the moment of writing) a Titanium Zelos Swordfish (yes, it just has a NH35 but it IS titanium). And Zelos to me is the benchmark for quality microbrands (heck: I own 6). And, if you can get them: Helm offers the Miyako w/a 9105 as well for less (I own all 4 Helm models now). In other words: the Narwhal is up against fierce microbrand competition. For me it is worth it because I just love the Narwhal design and build quality. And I can't wait to see what PHOIBOS comes up with next: but they do need to keep their prices sharp for people to stay enticed!

De PHOIBOS Narwhal 300M PY037B is een indrukwekkend horloge aangedreven door een betrouwbaar Miyota 9015 uurwerk, dat in de stevige roestvrijstalen kast zit. Het horloge heeft een prachtige getextureerde blauwe wijzerplaat die wordt omlijst door een mooie keramische lunette.
Het horloge heeft een kastdiameter van 41mm, waardoor het horloge geschikt is voor de meeste polsen zonder al te groot te zijn.

Het horloge wordt geleverd op een comfortabele stalen band en heeft het een datumvenster op 6 uur voor extra functionaliteit. Met zijn 300 meter waterbestendigheid en saffierglas met anti-reflectie coating, kunt u er zeker van zijn dat dit stoere uurwerk bijna elke uitdaging aankan.
